Black Friday 2026 on Amazon: date, calendar and plan
In short
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Amazon usually brings its deals forward to the week before and announces its exact dates in November. To really save, preparation starts six weeks ahead: a closed list, reference prices written down and a spending cap.

Full guide: How to shop and save
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| Friday 16 October | You start the list and note prices |
| Friday 6 November | List closed and spending cap set |
| Week of 20 November | Amazon usually brings deals forward |
| Friday 27 November | Black Friday 2026 |
| Monday 30 November | Cyber Monday 2026 |
When Black Friday 2026 is
Black Friday falls each year on the Friday after the fourth Thursday in November, which is Thanksgiving Day in the United States. In 2026 that Thursday is 26 November, so Black Friday is Friday 27.
Cyber Monday is the following Monday: 30 November 2026. In between lies the weekend, which shops use to stretch the deals.
| Year | Black Friday | Cyber Monday |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | Friday 27 November | Monday 30 November |
| 2027 | Friday 26 November | Monday 29 November |
When the deals start on Amazon
Amazon does not wait for Friday. In recent years it has turned Black Friday into a long week of deals that starts several days earlier and ends with Cyber Monday. Amazon itself announces the exact 2026 dates in November.
Until there is an official announcement, any start date you read is an estimate. What does not change is Friday 27: there will be deals that day.
Who can shop on Amazon's Black Friday
Anyone with an account. Unlike Prime Day, which is reserved for Prime members, Black Friday is open to everyone. Prime members have two advantages: fast delivery at no extra cost and, on some deals, early access.
If you are not a member, the 30-day free trial covers the whole event when started in mid-November. Note the day it ends.
The six-week plan
There are only a few weeks left, and they are enough. The method is the same as in Prime Day and Black Friday: how to prepare, here with dates.
| Week | What to do |
|---|---|
| 16 to 22 October | Write the list of what you really need |
| 23 to 29 October | Note the current price of each item |
| 30 October to 5 November | Check the prices again and note any changes |
| 6 to 12 November | Close the list and set the spending cap |
| 13 to 19 November | Check addresses, payment method and wish list |
| 20 to 30 November | Buy only what is on the list, if it beats your noted price |
Weeks 1 and 2: the list and the prices
A deal only saves money if you were going to buy that product. That is why the list comes first and is written before you see any discount. Save each item in a wish list and note today's price.
That noted price is your reference price. It is the only reliable way to know whether November's discount is real.
Weeks 3 and 4: check and close
Look at the prices again once a week. If one goes up in the run-up, you will know, and the later discount will not fool you. In week four, close the list: anything not written down by 12 November is not bought during the event.
Set a spending cap in euros too. A specific number, written down, works better than the intention not to overspend.
Week 5: prepare your account
- Check the delivery address.
- Make sure your card has not expired.
- Sort the wish list by priority.
- Look at the returns window for the most expensive item.
- Decide which Christmas presents you will buy early.
Week 6: buy
With the list done, buying is quick. For each item, compare the deal price with the one you noted. If it is better, buy it. If not, wait for Cyber Monday or leave it.
Before you pay, go over the product page: who sells, when it arrives and how to return it. We explain it in how to read a product page.
Types of deal you will see
- Multi-day deals: they hold the price throughout the event.
- Lightning deals: they last a few hours and have limited units.
- Vouchers: an extra discount you tick on the product page.
- Deals for Prime members: marked with their label.
Lightning deals create a sense of hurry on purpose. If the item was not on your list, the hurry is not yours.
Returns on November purchases
In previous years, Amazon has extended the returns window for November and December purchases until the end of January. Do not take it for granted in 2026: the window for each item is shown on its product page, and that is what counts.
Mistakes that cost money
- Going in “to see what there is” without a list.
- Trusting the crossed-out price without having noted the earlier one.
- Buying something only because few units are left.
- Forgetting that delivery counts towards the final price.
- Starting a free trial and not noting when it ends.
How to set the spending cap
The cap is worked out before you see any deals, with a three-step method.
- Add up the noted price of everything on your list.
- Decide how much of it you can pay without touching savings or deferring payments.
- Sort the list by need and cut where that amount runs out.
An example. Your list comes to €420 at October prices and you decide to spend €300. The items below the line are only bought if discounts on the ones above leave room. That way a good deal lets you buy more of the list, not step outside it.
What makes sense to buy during the event
- What you were going to buy before Christmas anyway.
- Replacements for things you use and that do not go off.
- Presents already decided, with a name attached.
- Something expensive you have been watching for months and whose price you know.
And what does not: what you discover that day, what you buy “just in case” and what is only attractive because of the discount percentage.
Buying Christmas presents early
Black Friday falls four weeks before Christmas. It is a good time for presents if you already know what they are. Make the list by person, with an idea and an amount for each, and note today's price.
Before you pay, look at the returns window on the product page: a present is opened weeks after it is bought, and the window should reach that far.
Black Friday compared with other sales
| Event | When | Who can buy |
|---|---|---|
| Winter sales | January | Everyone |
| Prime Day | Summer | Prime members only |
| Black Friday | Late November | Everyone |
| Cyber Monday | The following Monday | Everyone |
No event is always the cheapest for everything. That is why the method does not depend on the date: someone who notes prices buys well in any of them.
Security: the days with most scams
During the big sales there are more fake messages imitating shops. Three habits are enough to avoid them.
- Go to Amazon by typing the address or from the app, not from links in unexpected messages.
- Be wary of “problem with your order” notices that ask for payment details.
- Check on the product page who sells and who ships before buying.
Real notices about an order also appear inside your account. If they are not there, they are not from Amazon.
If you use the Prime trial for the event
Starting it around 15 November covers Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the first Christmas deliveries. It ends in mid-December: set the reminder on the day you start. The full plan is in how to make the most of the 30-day trial.
After the event
- Check that everything has arrived and in good condition.
- Return within the window anything that does not fit.
- Compare what you spent with your cap.
- Delete from the list what you did not buy and no longer want.
- Keep the noted prices: they will be useful next year.
The day before: final preparations
- Go into your account and check that you are signed in.
- Have the wish list sorted by priority.
- Have the noted prices to hand.
- Decide what time you will look at the deals, and for how long.
Setting a time limit works as well as setting a money limit. Half an hour with the list in front of you achieves more than a whole afternoon browsing deals.
If you are buying a present
At checkout you can mark the order as a gift, so that the delivery note does not show the price. Keep the proof of purchase until the person has opened and checked it. And if the present is for someone with a wedding or baby registry, buy from their registry: that way it is not duplicated.
In short
- Black Friday 2026: Friday 27 November.
- Cyber Monday 2026: Monday 30 November.
- The list and the prices are prepared from mid-October.
- You buy only what is written down and only if it beats the noted price.
- The returns window that counts is the one on the product page.
